CAET Upgrade Pathway
Path
Must hold a current Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) certification, not for current CAET holders.
This pathway includes credential validation and the CAET Upgrade Exam. Upon purchase, users will be automatically enrolled in the CAET Upgrade Exam: Credential Validation course.
NOTE: This is not for users that already hold the CAET certification.
CAET Upgrade Exam
Developed by the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) and delivered by the Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), the CAET Upgrade Certification Exam is a streamlined certification pathway for current Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) certification holders transitioning to Certified Aircraft Electronics Technician (CAET).
Exam Details:

Duration to complete: 90 days from date of purchase*

Format: 50 multiple-choice questions

Time limit: 60 minutes

Passing score: 70%

Attempts allowed: Up to 3 attempts

24-hour waiting period required between first and second attempt, 2-week waiting period required between second and third attempt

Technical Requirements:

Must download and install remote proctoring software

Must use a device with a working camera and microphone

Chromebooks and tablets are not supported
- You may use a calculator if it is not on your phone
Certification:
Upon passing, users will receive their certification from USI via Learn@FlyUSI.org, where they can print a PDF certificate or share their certification online.
